Major Character Death

Have you ever felt this way while reading a story? When you’re reading a story and having a soft spot for the major character, but… this character suddenly dies?

Sad and confused; these feelings may describe what you’re going through at the time and it’s commonly known as major character death. Behind the mixed feelings the writer creates after we read it, writing this kind of story to affect the emotions of the readers more is not easy to do.

The writer must give it a lot of thought about why she or he has to sacrifice the major character, for what, and how to make it acceptable.
